The Senior Manager, Technology is a strategic leadership role responsible for shaping and executing the technology roadmap across a portfolio of products and their underlying systems. This position leads Technical Product Owners and their squads, ensuring alignment with long-term goals and the broader technology strategy. The role involves close collaboration with senior stakeholders across the Qantas Group—including Executive Managers, Heads of, Product Owners, and technical teams—to define, assess, and prioritise product strategies and delivery plans. A key focus is ensuring products are secure, resilient, and meet service levels by design. 

Commercial accountability is central to the role, including managing total cost of ownership, budgets, and resource planning to meet OKRs. The Senior Manager Technology also plays a critical role in mentoring and coaching others, fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and innovative team culture. With a customer-centric mindset, this leader drives continuous improvement and high performance across cross-functional teams. Success in this role requires the ability to influence at senior levels, navigate complex environments, and adapt quickly in a fast-paced, evolving landscape. 

You’ll have: 

  • Over 10 years of technology leadership experience in large-scale enterprise environments, with a significant portion spent leading Identity & Access Management and/or End User Computing functions at scale.
  • Lead the strategic design and delivery of the technology roadmaps across the Identity and Workplace Technology product portfolio
  • Strong commercial and supplier/partner management expertise.  
  • Deep financial acumen with a focus on business fundamentals and commercial outcomes.  
  • Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution in complex settings.  
  • Extensive experience in IT service management and operational governance, with a track record of delivering reliable, secure, and scalable identity and endpoint services in complex enterprise environments.
  • Broad familiarity with enterprise Identity and Access Management and Modern Workplace platforms — such as Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, Saviynt, and CyberArk.
  • Demonstrated strength in strategic problem-solving, people leadership, and Agile coaching.
