A Snapshot

You will lead early‑stage master planning and architectural design for hyperscale data centre developments, shaping “sweet‑spot” designs from site selection through concept and design development. Acting as the architectural SME, you’ll partner closely with Technology, Development and Operations teams to deliver scalable, compliant and innovative design solutions across Australia and APAC.

  • Contribute to Basis of Design (BOD) documents aligned to AirTrunk standards and local conditions.
  • Assess site suitability and constraints during pre‑DD and DD phases.
  • Develop initial shell, rack, NOC/SOC and data hall layouts for greenfield and brownfield sites.
  • Represent Technology interests in early discussions with authorities and planning bodies.

Architecture & Design Management

  • Prepare Architectural Briefing Packages and manage architects and consultants through design completion.
  • Maintain and review Architectural, Civil and Structural technical requirements.
  • Review designs, tender packages and interiors to ensure consistency with AirTrunk standards.
  • Act as Architectural SME during concept and design phases.

Stakeholder & Innovation Focus

  • Coordinate across Technology, Development and Operations to ensure aligned outcomes.
  • Provide design input into construction methods, materials, sustainability and passive design.
  • Contribute architectural expertise across site selection, planning and engineering discussions.
Requirements
  • Registered Architect (Australia).
  • 10+ years’ experience in architecture and design management.
  • Strong experience on complex, services‑intensive projects (data centres or mission‑critical preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of NCC, BCA, DDA and MEP coordination.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD and digital 3D modelling.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and presentation skills.
  • Able to travel across Australia and APAC.
Desirable
  • Data centre or mission‑critical design experience.
  • Master planning and campus design experience.
  • DA / SSDA (NSW) or DFP (VIC) experience.
  • Australia‑wide project experience.
