Our Purpose
At Xero, we’re here to help you supercharge your business. We do this by automating routine tasks, surfacing actionable insights and connecting businesses with the right data, advisors and apps. When that happens, we’re not only making life better for small business, we’ll be building a stronger economy that can change the world.
As a Senior Finance Systems Specialist on a fixed-term contract, you will play a pivotal role within our Finance Systems team, actively contributing to the transformation and optimization of our financial systems. You'll leverage your deep functional expertise in finance processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness, with a primary focus on our NetSuite ERP solution. Your responsibilities will include spearheading ongoing enhancements, gaining deep expertise in our finance systems landscape, and mentoring team members, while applying your technical NetSuite skills to support project delivery and system integrity.
What you'll do

- Contribute to the financial systems roadmap by providing expert input and supporting the delivery of new features alongside your team.
- Drive the completion of routine and ad-hoc finance systems administration tasks across Accounting, Tax, and Financial Planning & Analysis teams, identifying and proposing improvements.
- Manage NetSuite integrations and customisations (e.g., records, workflows, reports), ensuring smooth operation through proactive monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Provide both functional and technical NetSuite support, which includes maintaining and enhancing existing scripts and workflows to improve system efficiency.
- Ensure quality control, robust change management for Sandbox & Production environments, and thorough documentation across all developments, including process flows, functional specifications, and training materials.
- Independently resolve moderate to complex system issues by conducting thorough investigations and collaborating with vendors or third-party support teams when necessary.
- Champion best practices within the team, coach peers to enable them to work more independently, and act as a subject matter expert for the ERP system.
What you'll bring with you
- 5-7+ years of combined experience in a System Accountant, System Analyst, or similar role with a strong focus on ERP administration, configuration, and business requirements gathering.
- Demonstrated experience in solution delivery within an FMIS/ERP administration environment, preferably with NetSuite.
- A solid understanding of accounting principles is highly advantageous.
- Experience with NetSuite development, including creating and implementing workflows and saved searches, along with a working knowledge of SuiteScripts.
- Proven ability to draft and deliver clear documentation, including business cases, solution documents, and technical/functional specifications.
- Previous experience acting as an escalation point or as a key contributor in a system implementation project would be beneficial.
- Expert verbal and written communicator.
- Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Being able to provide feedback and technical mentorship to the team, encouraging best practices along with knowledge sharing
- Interaction with seniors and executives with an exceptional can-do attitude, as well as the ability to multitask under increased deadlines
