About the role

Reporting into the Chief People Officer (CPO), the Senior People & Culture Business Partner at Sonder will play a critical role in shaping and supporting the employee experience across the full lifecycle. Partnering closely with senior leaders, you will provide expert advice and strategic guidance on a range of people initiatives, including employee relations, talent management, organisational development, DEI, wellbeing, and culture.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment and is passionate about building an inclusive, engaged, and high-performing workplace.

What you’ll be doing

  • Partnering with leaders to deliver end-to-end people solutions that align with business objectives and drive team performance
  • Providing expert advice on employee relations, performance management, compliance, and policy application
  • Supporting leaders through organisational design, workforce planning, and structural changes
  • Coaching people leaders to build capability in leadership, feedback, engagement and development conversations
  • Driving key P&C initiatives across employee engagement, DEI, wellbeing, and learning & development
  • Ensuring compliance with legislative and industrial requirements across multiple jurisdictions
  • Supporting effective use of HR systems (e.g. Employment Hero, Culture Amp) to deliver data-driven people insights
  • Leading and contributing to organisation-wide projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Who are we looking for?

What you bring to the team;

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a strategic P&C/HR Business Partnering role, ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment
  • Proven ability to manage complex employee relations matters across multiple industrial instruments and jurisdictions
  • Deep understanding of the full employee lifecycle including performance, development, succession and engagement
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to align people strategies to business outcomes
  • Confident communicator and influencer with the ability to build credibility at all levels
  • Demonstrated experience in organisational development, culture initiatives, and change leadership
  • Proficiency in HRIS and people analytics tools with a continuous improvement mindset
