When two organizations come together we’re given an opportunity to explore new ways of working that incorporate the strengths of both organizations. As the Regional Advisor for the APAC region, you will play a pivotal role in introducing TELUS's core People & Culture practices to existing and new acquisitions, ensuring alignment with local context and regulations, and aligning policies and practices. This position combines using your HR expertise with regional knowledge to drive cultural transformation and operational excellence.
Reporting into the Director - P&C, your mandate will be to work with the Senior Program Manager to establish and implement core practices. Working with cross-functional teams across multiple geographies, your recommendations will be crucial in understanding which global policies are best to adopt and which ones require adaptation.

What you’ll do:

  • Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution: Lead confidential investigations and manage employee relations cases including those related to performance, workplace conflict and terminations.

  • Regulatory & legislative management:  Stay current on local laws and standards, reviewing and recommending where to amend global policies, processes and guidelines as needed to ensure compliance.  Identify emerging trends in the region to ensure our organization’s practice and policies are congruent with local country context. 

  • Regional expertise: Be an advisor to the wider P&C Business Partner community on local requirements and conditions as it relates to team member situations, global policies applied to  the local context, conducting terminations, etc.

  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to drive roject or program success including Business Partners (BPs), Centers of Excellence (CoEs), leaders and team members

What you bring:

  • 5+ years of HR generalist experience in a fast-paced, global organization  with a particular focus on advising, investigating, policy implementation e.g. respect in the workplace, H&S, employee relations and compliance.

  • Resourceful and willing learner who proactively partners with CoEs, BPs and stakeholders to progress P&C policies and processes in line with regional requirements

  • Is highly comfortable with change and ambiguity and excels in highly collaborative team environments

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.

  • Deep knowledge of local labor laws, employment regulations, and cultural nuances in Australia, New Zealand.  Expertise in other APAC regions is an asset.

What sets you apart: 

  • Experience in post-acquisition integration 

  • Experience providing HR support or managing HR processes across multiple countries is highly desirable.

  • Experience with Google Suite of products

  • University degree in Business and/or a similar discipline; 

  • Ability to speak Korean, Japanese or other language is asset
