As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will work closely with the Infrastructure and Networking teams in Sydney and Kuala Lumpur to provide technical guidance, ensure best practice standards are followed, and help deliver reliable, secure and scalable technology services for the business.
You will provide technical mentoring and support to others, particularly when navigating complex troubleshooting or solution design. You will also play an active role in delivering business requirements, identifying improvement opportunities, and recommending practical solutions that balance technical best practice with the operational and budgetary needs of the organisation.
This will be a full time, permanent position based in our Sydney office, with work-from-home flexibility (up to 3 days per week).
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support and maintain EML’s platform and infrastructure environments across on-premises and cloud (Azure/AWS), including both project delivery and BAU activities.
- Design, build, deploy and enhance platform solutions, contributing to projects involving new platform features, tooling and platform capabilities.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support, troubleshooting complex platform and performance issues and managing incidents through to resolution.
- Maintain and improve platform reliability through proactive monitoring, maintenance, patching, upgrades and performance optimisation.
- Develop and maintain accurate platform documentation, system diagrams, asset registers and operational procedures aligned with governance and change management frameworks.
- Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with internal teams, project managers and external vendors to deliver secure, reliable and scalable platform services.
ABOUT YOU

- Demonstrated experience in a hands-on platform or infrastructure engineering role within a collaborative, low-ego team environment.
- Experience working with cloud environments, preferably Azure, including component configuration, security, logging and alerting.
- Experience with Kubernetes, containers and cluster management
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, along with experience using Git and GitOps practices including CI/CD pipelines (Ansible, GitHub Actions or equivalent).
- Experience with automation and monitoring tools (Elasticsearch, Datadog, PRTG or similar), along with Linux server administration and system patching.
- Strong scripting capability using languages such as Bash, Python or PowerShell, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- A degree or postgraduate qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
