At Telstra, our purpose is to build a connected future so everyone can thrive. We are one of Australia's leading technology and telecommunications companies, supporting millions of customers and businesses every day.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join our Procurement team. This is an opportunity to influence strategic business decisions, deliver commercial value and work with stakeholders across a broad range of sourcing and supplier initiatives.

About the Role

As a Senior Procurement Specialist, you will lead sourcing activities, negotiate commercial agreements and support the delivery of procurement strategies that create value for the business.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, you'll help drive commercial outcomes, manage risk and improve the way we buy goods and services. You'll be trusted to navigate complex commercial situations, provide expert procurement advice and deliver outcomes that balance value, risk and business objectives.

This is a senior individual contributor role, suited to someone who is commercially minded, collaborative and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing activities from market engagement through to contract execution.
  • Develop and execute negotiation strategies that deliver commercial value and business outcomes.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand business needs and provide trusted procurement advice.
  • Manage supplier and contractual relationships to ensure appropriate governance and performance outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve value, manage risk and drive continuous improvement.
  • Apply market insights, supplier intelligence and commercial analysis to support decision-making.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Risk and other specialist teams to ensure compliant and effective procurement outcomes.
  • Contribute to procurement transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

You are an experienced procurement professional with strong commercial instincts and the ability to build credibility with stakeholders at all levels.

You'll bring:

  • Significant experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management or commercial management.
  • Strong negotiation and contracting capability.
  • Experience leading complex sourcing projects and commercial initiatives.
  • Well-developed stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to balance value, risk and business objectives.
  • A proactive and pragmatic approach to delivering outcomes.
  • Industry experience is less important than your ability to navigate complexity, build relationships and deliver strong commercial results.

Why Telstra?

At Telstra, you'll work on meaningful projects that have real impact. You'll join a collaborative team, have access to ongoing development opportunities and be empowered to make a difference.

We offer:

  • Flexible and hybrid ways of working.
  • Great learning and development opportunities.
  • A supportive and inclusive culture.
  • Career growth across Procurement, Commercial and broader business functions.
  • Competitive remuneration and employee benefits.

Ready to Apply?

If you're passionate about commercial problem solving, enjoy working with stakeholders and suppliers, and want to be part of a team that delivers meaningful business outcomes, we'd love to hear from you.
