Senior Product DesignerAbout Stake

We’re an Australian investing platform that helps ambitious people confidently grow their wealth. By offering seamless, immersive access to ASX and Wall St, we’ve empowered a new wave of investors. Today, we have 750,000+ customers and more than A$8B under administration. Join us as we continue to reshape the financial industry, inspire investor confidence and unleash the investor in everyone.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to join our Product Design team in Sydney.

At Stake, design shapes far more than interfaces. It shapes how people engage with their financial future. Our designers sit at the intersection of customer needs, business strategy and product innovation, helping turn complex problems into experiences that feel simple, intuitive and rewarding. We care deeply about craft, but we're equally focused on outcomes. The best ideas emerge through collaboration, experimentation and a genuine understanding of customer behaviour.

As part of the Stake Super squad, you'll help redefine how Australians engage with one of the most important financial products they'll ever own. Superannuation remains one of the largest and least understood categories in financial services. You'll have the opportunity to make it more accessible, transparent and engaging for hundreds of thousands of customers while helping build experiences that drive confidence, trust and long-term engagement.

This is a highly collaborative role with meaningful influence across product strategy and execution. You'll work closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Marketing and Data teams to solve complex customer problems, shape roadmap decisions and deliver experiences that create lasting value for both customers and the business. We work hybrid spending 3 days in our beautiful, dog-friendly Sydney office.

What success looks like

Within your first two years, you'll have:

  • Designed and launched customer experiences that materially improve engagement, retention and customer satisfaction across Stake Super
  • Helped simplify complex financial concepts and workflows into intuitive experiences that customers trust and enjoy using
  • Become a key contributor to product strategy, helping identify opportunities, shape roadmaps and influence business decisions through customer insight
  • Built a strong understanding of customer motivations and behaviours, using research and experimentation to guide design decisions
  • Delivered high-quality end-to-end experiences across mobile and web, balancing craft, usability and measurable business impact
  • Contributed to the evolution of Stake's design system and design practices, improving consistency and efficiency across teams
  • Mentored and elevated other designers through feedback, collaboration and a commitment to design excellence
  • Helped establish Stake Super as a category-leading customer experience within Australian financial services
You'll thrive here if…
  • You have experience designing complex consumer products and turning ambiguity into thoughtful, intuitive customer experiences
  • You combine strong product thinking with exceptional design craft and care deeply about both customer outcomes and business impact
  • You're comfortable leading projects from discovery through to delivery, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams throughout the process
  • You use research, behavioural insights and experimentation to inform decisions rather than relying solely on intuition
  • You communicate ideas clearly, influence stakeholders effectively and enjoy working through complex problems with others
  • You're energised by ownership, continuous learning and the opportunity to shape products used by hundreds of thousands of customers
Bonus if you've ever
  • Designed products within fintech, investing, superannuation or other consumer financial services categories
  • Worked on growth, engagement or retention initiatives informed by experimentation and customer data
  • Designed reward systems, behavioural experiences or engagement frameworks that encouraged long-term customer participation
  • Contributed to the development of design systems used across multiple teams and products
  • Worked in high-growth product organisations where speed, quality and customer impact were equally important
