As a Senior Product Designer, you’ll take ownership of complex product challenges from early discovery through to delivery and continuous improvement. Working as an individual contributor alongside Product, Engineering, Data and Design, you’ll have the opportunity to influence both the experiences our customers use and the direction of the products behind them.

You’ll bring together customer insight, product judgement and exceptional design craft to simplify complex financial journeys. As we explore new possibilities with AI and intelligent automation, you’ll also help identify where emerging technology can create meaningful value for customers.

What you’ll own

  • Lead end to end design across a product domain, from framing customer problems and discovery through to delivery, measurement and continuous improvement.
  • Set a high standard for accessible interaction and visual design across native mobile and web, taking ideas from early prototypes through to production ready experiences.
  • Use customer research, product data and experimentation to understand customer needs, influence product strategy and help define what success looks like.
  • Apply systems thinking to simplify complex financial journeys and understand how customer experience connects with technology, operations, policy and risk.
  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data, Marketing and Risk to make thoughtful trade offs between customer needs, business priorities and technical feasibility.
  • Bring people together through workshops, design critiques and clear storytelling, adapting your approach to build alignment with different audiences.
  • Help evolve Zip’s design system, principles and experience standards, creating reusable patterns that lift quality and consistency.
  • Explore AI enabled experiences and emerging interaction patterns, while sharing your expertise through critique, mentoring and knowledge sharing.

What you’ll bring to the team

Zipsters work on a broad range of initiatives, and our skills and experiences all look a little different. What really matters to us is that you’re a great fit with our four Values, and have a desire to learn and grow.

So whether you meet some or all of the desirable attributes below, we’d still love to hear from you:

  • 5+ years’ experience designing complex, customer facing digital products in fintech, payments, technology or another high scale or regulated environment.
  • Deep interaction and visual design capability across native mobile and web, with a portfolio demonstrating this as well as strong product thinking, accessibility and attention to detail.
  • Confidence using customer research, usability testing, experimentation and product data to understand needs and influence product decisions.
  • Strong systems thinking, with experience simplifying complex customer journeys, services, workflows and dependencies.
  • Clear storytelling, facilitation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build alignment and partner closely with Product and Engineering through delivery.
  • Strong working knowledge of Figma and prototyping, alongside experience contributing to scalable design systems.
  • Practical experience using AI assisted tools for exploration, prototyping or research synthesis, with curiosity about how emerging technology can improve the quality and pace of design.
  • Sound judgement and the ability to work autonomously, navigate ambiguity and respond constructively to evidence and feedback.
  • A mindset that embraces AI and new tools to adapt, learn and grow.
  • An aptitude for identifying and managing risks. Whether you are a People Manager or an Individual Contributor, we are all leaders at Zip, therefore effective risk management is important to how we run our business and part of all our roles.
  • Our values in your DNA. Customer First, Own It, Stronger Together and Change the Game.
