Our story

There are some big, juicy problems in property management that need to be solved. In the time it takes you to read this job ad, 21 tenants will be approved for a rental property, giving property owners, new tenants, and property managers new relationships to manage. How do we make this experience not only frictionless, but fun, for everyone?

Kolmeo's mission is to revolutionise the way people think about renting, owning and managing property, and really listen to our customers and their needs - better streamlining of payments between tenants and owners, automating the day-to-day time consuming stuff, and saving property managers time.

💸 Since 2020, we’ve seen more than THREE BILLION dollars in payment transactions soar across our platform

✅ More than 469,417 workflows tasks have been ticked off (our users are productivity obsessed)

🏆 Oh, and did we mention we've won prop-tech awards in 2023 and 2025?

With more than 15 years of adventures in prop-tech, Kolmeo gives real estate agencies around Australia the right tools and technology to perfectly balance the tenant, owner, and property manager relationship. In fact, we used to be the customer - a prop-tech company born out of property management - so we intimately understand their joys and sorrows (and our customers are at the heart of everything we do).

So what’s the gig?

Kolmeo is on the hunt for a Senior Product Designer to drive the end to end discovery and design efforts across Kolmeo's service and product offerings. You advocate for value-add experiences that delivery teams can work towards, and enjoy digging into the complex world of property management to truly understand the needs of our customer, whilst helping the broader business easily understand these needs too.

A core part of our Senior Product Designers role is a focus on design thinking, workshop facilitation, and team mentorship - we want to hear from those with solid experience across the full design spectrum, including all phases (discovery, definition, and delivery) with demonstrated leadership capabilities.

We want to hear from people who can comfortably work in ambiguous discovery spaces, leverage their experience in UX design and design delivery to confidently see solutions through to fruition, and effectively guide other teams across the business on customer-centric best-practice.

This role is Melbourne-based on a hybrid work model with a blend of WFH days and in-office attendance at our Melbourne CBD workspace.

A day in the life of a Senior Product Designer:

  • Facilitate continuous discovery with your Senior Product Manager counterpart to identify needs of users and opportunities for the business
  • Ownership, advocacy and maintenance of our personas, user journey maps and service blueprints related to key property management journeys and jobs to be done
  • Closely collaborate and negotiate with Senior Product Managers, Solution Architects and subject matter sponsors to assess and nominate opportunity areas to add value
  • Co-facilitate discovery workshops with internal teams to define opportunity scope, objectives, for a prioritised initiative
  • Create deliverables that support in enabling the team’s understanding of opportunities identified during discovery, which may include:
    • Conceptual mockups/value prop designs
    • Site maps
    • Interaction flows
    • Storyboards
    • User story maps
    • Wire-frames
    • Content inventories
    • Journey maps
  • Work closely with Business Analysts in definition/design phase to translate detailed experiences and interaction scenarios into high-fidelity designs, prototypes, or service playbooks/SOPs
  • See your experiences through to GTM - facilitating QA/PVT testing in development and supporting any feature or experience rollout.

To hit this job out of the park, you must have:

  • Around 8 years product design or UX design experience (not UI design or graphic design), with minimum 3 years Senior, specifically working with cross-functional digital squads in Agile to collaborate on digital product solutions
  • Strong demonstrated knowledge of user-centred design and design thinking methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring designers and other non-design stakeholders around the design process
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design delivery in agile practices to guide fellow product designers in ways to move efficiently through the process
  • Demonstrated strong prototyping and design documentation using Figma
  • Demonstrated solid understanding of different user research methods and able to advocate the right method for use
  • Experience putting your UCD into practical use by being an engaging facilitator of design thinking and discovery workshops
  • A natural curiosity and comfort in working in ambiguity
  • Excellent storytelling and communication skills
  • Strong demonstration of cross-department stakeholder management experience, including negotiation skills and an ability to constructively challenge ideas with various stakeholders through the design process while having an open mind to other perspectives

As far as "nice-to-have's" (non-essentials):

  • Formal education in a UX design, communication design or human psychology/HCD related field is preferred, but not mandatory
  • Experience in facilitating service design for B2B workflow management products highly regarded
  • Would be great if you have tools experience with:
    • Askable
    • Miro
    • Pendo
    • Confluence & JIRA.
