Your Team
The Investment Governance team is part of CFS’s Superannuation & Investments (S&I) business unit which is accountable for delivering investment, superannuation and retirement products to our customers. The S&I business unit is led by the CEO – CFS Super who has fiduciary and compliance responsibilities to ensure all CFS businesses manage risks effectively in our customers best interests.
Reporting to the Director of Investment Governance, this role supports end-to-end accountability for investment governance approvals, monitoring activities for products such as FirstChoice, Managed Accounts, and CFS Edge, and preparation of quarterly Board reporting.
Your Responsibilities
Conduct initial review of managed fund or listed security additions
Perform data analytics to support our ongoing monitoring activities of fund managers
Support the review of our investment menu of over 700 managed funds, sectors and
competitor insights
Liaise with product and distribution to support the addition pipeline
Regular reporting activities as defined in our Investment Governance Framework encompassing both quantitative and qualitative assessments.
Contribute to the coordination of quarterly board reporting to the CFSIL Board and Board Investment Committee.
Your Capability and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in investment governance, portfolio research, or wealth/superannuation management, ideally within a trustee, platform, or institutional environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in finance, postgraduate investment studies (such as CFA/CAIA) is highly regarded.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of investment products and structure (managed funds, SMAs and unlisted vehicles) across equities, fixed income, credit and alternatives.
- Technical understanding and implementation of investment governance principles (e.g. SPS530), policies, and practices.
- Strong understanding of the CFS business (or equivalent experience in a similar APRA regulated entity/business)
- Previous experience in end-to-end delivery of projects /initiatives, and to manage cross functional projects.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships across both CFS and within the team
- Strong ability to solve complex problems, drive process improvements and automation.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail - Able to lead, pivot, roll up your sleeves and implement with quality and
- passion
- Experience and credibility in engaging with senior internal stakeholders
- RG146 or relevant other industry related qualifications
