The Senior Product Manager plays a strategic leadership role in driving the growth and evolution of Macquarie Telecom’s telecommunications product capabilities. Operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, this role is critical to delivering innovative, high-value solutions that address customer needs and create competitive differentiation.

You will be accountable for product and innovation produced by a cross-functional team of engineering architects and collaborates closely with stakeholders across technology, delivery, commercial, and sales. The role demands agility, strategic foresight, and strong execution to respond rapidly to market shifts and emerging opportunities.

You will drive development and execution of product roadmaps, including ideation, business casing, introduction, and lifecycle management. Success in this role requires a focus on commercial outcomes, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to translate complex challenges into scalable, revenue-generating solutions.

This role has responsibility across a number of critical product portfolios, including Network Security and Security Service Edge, SD-WAN, Telco Access (e.g., fibre, Ethernet, NBN), Unified Communications and Telephony, Managed LAN and WiFi, and Managed Services. The Senior Product Manager will drive the strategic direction, capability development, and performance of these portfolios to ensure they continue to meet evolving customer demands and support Macquarie Telecom’s growth ambitions.

What you'll be doing

  • Define product vision and contribute to broader product strategy aligned with market needs and technology trends.
  • Use competitive intelligence and customer insight to influence roadmap direction.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with engineering architects and commercial stakeholders to define, design and deliver product capabilities that solve customer problems and scale with business growth.
  • Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned product sets. Review performance metrics, drive enhancements, and manage transitions (e.g., sunset, upgrade, scale).
  • Own relationships with key vendors and partners to ensure delivery of commercial and technical outcomes.
  • Drive innovation and secure commercial advantage through effective engagement.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to sales, solutions architects and bid teams for custom opportunities.
  • Support development of non-standard pricing and product packages.

Your ideal skills and experience

  • A minimum of 7 years experience in product management, telecommunications technologies in any technical role.
  • A minimum of 5 years taking products to market – defining, business casing, designing, and executing on a product vision.
  • Expert product ideation and conceptualisation skills

  • You must have experience and knowledge of two or more of the following product portfolios within the telecommunications sector:
  • Business telecommunications connectivity solutions and Integrated solutions for B2B environments.
  • Integrated calling solutions and Call Centre operations
  • Network: internet, connectivity, load balancing, observability, DNS and High availability: multi-path connectivity
  • Security: firewall, cloud security, content filtering, and SASE.
