About the Role

This senior role sits within the Perpetual Wealth Management Multi-Manager Investment Team and will have responsibility for researching external investment managers and contributing to the management of Perpetual Wealth Management’s multi-manager, Income Alternatives programme and Fixed Income portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Income Assets, you’ll research and make recommendations on a wide breadth of investment managers and opportunities, focusing on Income Alternatives and Fixed Income, and including our Responsible Investment options. You’ll contribute to the design and portfolio construction of multi-manager funds, and model portfolios and the delivery of investment solutions for our clients.

You’ll:

  • Ensure top quartile performance of our implemented (discretionary) and model portfolios, consistent with client objectives.

  • Design and review relevant implemented and model portfolios, focusing on the Income Alternatives and Fixed Income sectors.

  • Provide input into and delivery of high-quality Investment Committee and Board papers.

  • Contribute to strategic and dynamic asset allocation discussion and decision making and investment strategy.

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

  • An appropriate undergraduate degree (commerce, economics, business, finance or other technical area of study e.g. science) and/or relevant investment post-graduate qualifications (e.g. CFA, CAIA, MBA, MAppFin).

  • 5-10+ years’ experience as a multi-manager research analyst and/or portfolio manager, with demonstrable experience in Income Alternatives and Fixed Income classes research.

  • Investment experience across traditional and alternative asset classes, including portfolio management and portfolio construction of multi-manager funds.

  • Strong understanding of portfolio construction theory, investment markets, and financial instruments.

  • Knowledge and experience with ESG factors and Responsible Investing.

  • Strong numeric, modelling and analytical skills, as well as strong presentation skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience in Investment Committee reporting.

  • A track record of taking ownership and accountability of decisions that impact investment performance.
