Job Description

The Resiliency Manager is responsible and accountable for ensuring that TAL’s DR systems testing are managed, assessed and challenged to uplift platform resiliency to support APRA regulatory requirements (CPS230, CPS232 and CPS234). Part of the Digital Infrastructure & Operations Infrastructure Team, this is a critical role that is driven by high performance culture, collaboration, and delivering customer and operational excellence right across TAL. Role overview:

Strategic Planning

  • Enhance platform resilience and plan disaster recovery processes and frameworks
  • Establish comprehensive roadmaps to uplift resilience
  • Challenge the status quo and develop a comprehensive testing schedule.

Leadership and Operational Excellence

  • Train, and mentor team members and stakeholders regarding resiliency
  • Foster a company culture that encourages top performance and delivery
  • Provide oversight, lead employees and outsourced partners to deliver on high quality and high-performance outcomes

Stakeholder Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation (offshore and onshore), including external clients, and partners (where appropriate)
  • Help identify problems, workarounds and clear blockers

Compliance and Risk Management

  • Lead our risk culture for resiliency, ensuring that TAL complies with legal and regulatory requirements
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to the platform design and architecture to safeguard the assets and data
  • Ensure that artefacts are captured and maintained in central repositories

Innovation and Improvement

  • Promote continuous improvement and innovation
  • Stay informed of industry trends and advancements to keep the company competitive in the market

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop, implement frameworks, and identify opportunities to improve the platform and business services resilience.
  • Seek capabilities to maintain viable robust business operations during a technology service disruption.
  • Coach and provide guidance with platform designs, technology resilience strategies, and architecture to ensure that all critical business functions can be recovered or has embedded design to withstand a technology service failure.
  • Plan, coordinate and manage disaster recovery planning and activities, ensuring rapid and efficient recovery of IT systems and operations.
  • Ensure that information and artefacts are maintained and useful.
  • Design, present and deliver training programs to ensure staff at all levels are aware of their roles and responsibilities in resilience.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and prepare for audits and reviews related to resilience and technology resiliency.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including senior management, to promote a culture of resilience and ensure alignment of BCP and disaster recovery strategies with business goals

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience working with ServiceNow, CMDB and BCM modules
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing disaster recovery, business continuity planning and testing.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in technology with a strong focus on systems resiliency
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in supporting multi-tiered infrastructure and application services
  • Strong planning and time management skills (Working knowledge of Agile frameworks/JIRA/Confluence)
  • Strong knowledge on hybrid cloud technologies (AWS/Azure, SaaS, PaaS and IaaS)
  • Experience in providing a robust challenge on risks associated with technology services.
  • Good knowledge of industry and market trends to determine potential impacts on technology environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate infrastructure concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences at various hierarchical levels.
  • Poise and ability to act calmly and competently in high-pressure, high-stress situations.
  • Critical thinker, with strong problem-solving and consulting skills.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legal and regulatory requirements.•Ability to lead and motivate both direct and indirect team members.
  • Good knowledge of cyber and information frameworks.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • University degree or equivalent experience
