You will bring strong influencing and collaboration skills, along with the ability to translate complex risk matters into clear, practical advice.

Key duties include but are not limited to;

  • Provide independent Line 2 analysis, insights and reporting on the adequacy of the Finance Domain risk profile, including whether risks are within appetite.

  • Establish and execute a risk-based Line 2 monitoring and oversight program across the Finance Domain.

  • Provide independent oversight and challenge of Finance Domain incidents, issues, control deficiencies and remediation activities.

  • Lead oversight, challenge and advice on third party risk management practices, including a risk-based third party monitoring program.

  • Analyse risk data to extract insights across risks, controls, incidents, obligations and third parties.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and support for regulatory engagements, audits, reviews and responses relating to financial risk management.

  • Support continuous improvement of financial management risk frameworks, policies, standards and procedures.

What You’ll Need

  • 10+ years’ experience in first and/or second line risk management, with a proven track record of success in similar roles.

  • Experience in a regulated industry, ideally financial services.

  • Postgraduate qualifications are highly regarded.

  • Experience working in or leading reporting, financial and risk/governance functions.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess risk and provide practical recommendations.

  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand and translate external regulatory requirements to shape business outcomes.

  • Hold an accreditation in Risk Management from a recognised body like Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA) or Governance Institute of Australia (GIA) or be willing to obtain one after joining AustralianSuper.
