Mission statement:

Assessing customer needs and recommend appropriate transformers products via on time submission of comprehensive techno-commercial proposals or bids that distinguishes Hitachi Energy value proposition in the market. Plan work activities to deliver on designated sales operations tasks in support of achieving the defined organization targets set for Orders growth.

Your responsibilities:

  • You will review of tenders and support the local sales organization/customers in determining the most technically appropriate and cost-effective solutions and in the preparation of offers and provide technical support during the technical meeting, product presentations, negotiation and offers product/solution/service-related training.

  • You will prepare/support preparation of comprehensive quality technical/commercial offers based on customer specification requirements, Local Business Unit/feeder factory indications and Sales organization directives.

  • You will ensure the preparation of technical and financial aspects of the offer and costing models, indicating prices and trading conditions and ensure the definition of items to be included in proposals.

  • You will support development, maintain detailed understanding of the transformers business strategy and market positioning, prepare various analyses as related to market segment, product, and competitors.

  • You will analyze customer needs and competitor offers through general market information and information provided by the Sales organization, perform Win/lost proposal analysis, identify potential cause and recommend future actions in cooperation with Sales/Local Business Unit to obtain better future results.

  • You will participate in negotiations with customer on technical, contractual, and commercial content of the proposal and provide information to the risk review process in accordance with Hitachi Energy policy and participate in the risk review assessment as needed.

  • You will drive and hold itself accountable for the highest standards of health, safety, and environment to ensure Zero Harm is achieved, attend required health, safety and environment training, and Report injuries, incidents, hazards and near miss events.

Your background:

  • You hold degree qualifications in Engineering (electrical) or recognized equivalent.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Sales or Tendering Engineer.

  • Strong commitment to safe work practices and dedication to following all relevant workplace safety guidelines.

  • Strong technical knowledge of Medium and High Voltage Distribution and Power Transformers.

  • Critical consulting skills in bid-no bid issues, basic risk review experience and time management, co-ordination, accuracy, attention to detail and performing in a pressure environment are necessary.

  • A high level of self-motivation, curiosity, and desire to learn about new technologies and deep knowledge and understanding to the electrical engineering industry.

  • Estimating and tendering experience (MS Excel based system) and sales tools literacy and competent in using SFDC (preferable), MS Word, MS Excel.

  • Good communication skills and assertive business acumen. Able to collaborate within the broader business.

  • Exceptional communication skills along with interpersonal and negotiation skills.
