The role also collaborates externally with regulatory authorities and industry associations to help shape and respond to evolving regulatory requirements.

What you'll be doing.
- Lead regulatory compliance activities for products sold across Australia and New Zealand.
- Interpret food legislation and regulatory requirements and provide expert guidance to business stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain procedures related to formula approvals, ingredient compliance, product labels, and marketing materials.
- Partner with Procurement, R&D, Marketing, Sales, Quality, Supply Chain and Manufacturing teams to support product innovation, renovation, and reformulation projects.
- Review product claims and labelling strategies to ensure regulatory compliance while supporting commercial outcomes.
- Deliver training and build regulatory awareness across cross-functional teams.
- Monitor changes to the regulatory landscape and communicate impacts to the business.
- Assess regulatory risks and evaluate the commercial and financial implications of compliance decisions.
- Build relationships with regulatory authorities and industry bodies and support external engagement activities.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance regulatory processes, compliance effectiveness, and business performance.
What you'll need to be successful.
- Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related scientific discipline.
- Minimum 5 years' experience within a large global food manufacturing organisation, preferably in Regulatory Affairs.
- Strong understanding of food labelling, marketing claims substantiation, and food safety requirements.
- Proven ability to interpret and apply FSANZ standards and other relevant food regulations.
- Experience providing technical guidance and influencing stakeholders across multiple business functions.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to balance regulatory risk with business objectives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into clear recommendations.
- Demonstrated project management, prioritisation and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working with regulatory systems, data and digital tools.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements across the APACSA region is advantageous.
