As a Senior Software Engineer on the Unreal Ecosystem team, you will work with a passionate team of engineers in the support of plugins, tools and systems that empower all developers and collaborators to make the best game experiences for our players. 

The Unreal Ecosystem (UnEco) team collaborates with partners across Riot, all contributing to a stronger, more efficient Unreal development environment. You’ll navigate diverse technical challenges, ramping up quickly on new topics and solving complex problems in ways that empower both developers and, ultimately, our players.

This role is based in Sydney and a 12-month contract.

Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the on-call rotation within core working hours; resolve game developer workflows & identify points of improvements from hands on support.
  • Build and maintain software systems with a focus on quality, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Write clear documentation and communicate technical details across teams and disciplines.
  • Uphold a high standard of engineering excellence. Participate in code reviews, write unit/integration tests, and contribute to continuous improvement of team practices.
Required Qualifications: 
  • 4+ years experience in professional software development
  • 3+ years of professional experience and proficiency with C++
  • Experience working with game development teams or adjacent industries
  • Experience with Unreal engine
  • Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, concurrency, etc.)
  • Strong communication within and across teams
  • Fluency in English
  • Core Hours align with AEDT 10AM-6PM
Desired Qualifications:
  • Fluency in Mandarin
