Job Description


The Senior Engineer is pivotal in supporting the delivery of our Domain Strategy by driving innovation and ensuring the development of high-quality software solutions. They are responsible for the entire lifecycle of medium-sized projects: engineering design, development, test, production, and deployment and subsequent fixes and improvements. 

By leveraging advanced technical skills and a deep understanding of software engineering principles, the Senior Engineer contributes to the creation of robust, scalable, and efficient applications that align with our strategic goals. This role involves writing and reviewing code, as well as architecting solutions that meet both current and future business needs. 

The Senior Engineer plays a crucial role in mentoring and guiding more junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and engineering excellence. By leading by example and providing support, this role helps build a strong, cohesive squad team capable of tackling complex challenges and delivering high-quality software products. The Senior Engineer also collaborates closely within their cross-functional squad team, working closely with the Product Owner to ensure that software solutions are aligned with customer value and business needs. 

Squad Mission 
 
The Audience Amplification Platform team sits within the Agent Division and is responsible for Domain Group’s digital marketing innovation, powering the next generation of property advertising beyond our owned platforms. The team builds and supports Domain’s social platform products, enabling high-impact campaigns across Facebook, Instagram, Google and other leading digital channels. Our mission is to make every campaign smarter, more transparent and more effective for our customers. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the entire lifecycle of projects: engineering design, development, test, production, and deployment and subsequent fixes and improvements. 

  • Consistently writes, co-writes, and reviews documentation and production-ready code that is clear, concise, tested, and easily understood by others. 

  • Proficient in multiple languages, frameworks, and tools. 

  • Quick and effective in identifying and resolving issues, balancing trade-offs between speed, quality, and technical debt. 

  • Approaches work with a security lens and actively looks for security vulnerabilities both in code and when providing code reviews.  

Ideally you will have:

  • Experience with .NET,  React, TypeScript or similar frontend technologies. 

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or GCP. 

  • Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures      

  • Experience with API and asynchronous integration patterns such as SNS/SQS and Kafka. 

  • Experience with SQL data stores (PostgreSQL, MySQL/Aurora) and NoSQL (DynamoDB, Redis) 

  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD, and infrastructure-as-code  

Technical Skills 

  • Deep expertise in C# / .NET and ASP.NET Core. 

  • Understands shift-left testing and how to implement it in practice  

  • Familiar with Functional and Object Oriented programming  

  • Familiar with Cloud Design patterns, TDD, BDD and Domain Driven design  

  • Familiar with modern Application Security Practices (OWASP)  

  • Degree in Computer Science / Software Engineering or related field
