The Senior Software Engineer will automate internal processes, triage support requests, mentor junior team members, and leverage AI tools to improve operational efficiency.

We’re building a new team at InDebted called Orchestrate - the next evolution of what was previously our Automate function. Orchestrate’s mission is to transform how operational work flows through our platform by making our in-house solution, Collect, the central brain for intelligent work distribution.
Instead of work arriving reactively through inboxes, Orchestrate will enable Collect to proactively route tasks - to AI agents, human agents, automation workflows, or future CX tools - based on data, context and business priorities.
If you enjoy backend engineering, building distributed systems and solving high-scale workflow challenges, this is a chance to help shape one of the most important platform initiatives at InDebted.
What You’ll Work On
- You’ll design and build the systems that sit beneath Collect - the APIs, workflows and automation tools that power customer journeys, internal teams and new market expansion.
- Build backend services in Golang and Python, shaping a new automation layer.
- Create APIs, event-driven workflows and internal tooling to remove manual effort.
- Build the backbone for client self-service (portals, decisioning, reporting).
- Work closely with Data, Engineering and Customer teams to design high-leverage automation.
- Own your work end-to-end - from design to implementation, deployment and iteration.
- This is a foundational role: you’ll influence architecture, build greenfield systems and help define how Orchestrate works as a function.

- Significant reduction in manual operational tasks through automation.
- New backend components and APIs adopted across internal teams.
- Improved flow, reliability and performance within Collect.
- Early versions of client self-service and reporting tools live in production.
What You Bring
- Strong experience with Golang (preferred) and Python.
- Experience designing and building backend systems, APIs and integrations.
- Familiarity with Terraform, AWS and event-driven patterns.
- Comfort working in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of solutions.
- Financial services or event-sourcing experience is a bonus but not essential.
