Retail Technology plays an integral part in the purpose and success of CommBank. We are responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experiences across all digital touch points. Within Retail Technology, you’ll be part of the Home Buying (HB) business unit which guides and supports our lending network to be the home lender of choice for all Australians.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll work in a consultative team environment implementing the results of Customer Centred Design work to create simple but effective, cohesive visual design solutions that meet the needs of a wide range of users. The role will deliver improved outcomes for our customers and our organisation through visual and intuitive experiences that lead to higher satisfaction and better engagement of our customers.
Ultimately, you'll be in the Digital HB Tools squad which maintains and enhances a range of state-of-the-art tools that streamline the home buying experience. This includes working on .Net 8, React, DP2 (Azure) and DHP (AWS). You’ll be responsible for full-stack development on property search tools, a suite of online calculators, and calendaring tools for scheduling home loan appointments.
We’re interested in hearing from people who:

Are full-stack senior software engineers experienced in the full software development lifecycle using Agile practices (Solution Design, DevOps, Security etc.)

Have hands-on experience in developing backend applications using C#, .NET Framework, .Net Core, Web API, and SQL Server
-
Have demonstrated experience in frontend development using React.js, Redux, Javascript, HTML, CSS/SCSS, Typescript
-
Have recent hands-on experience with building high traffic APIs with modern stack including .net core
-
Can apply sound knowledge of Microservices architecture and RESTful APIs
-
Have familiarity with public cloud engineering - AWS or Azure and Kafka/event-based architecture
-
Are experienced with DevOps, CI/CD (GitHub, TeamCity, Artifactory) and security best practices and principles

Are actively involved in Automated Quality Engineering and Testing (Unit Testing, Integration Testing, Functional/Regression Testing)

Have experience of logging & monitoring: Observe, ObStack, Grafana and Splunk knowledge are desirable

Can troubleshoot complex technical issues involving multiple system components

Enjoy mentoring and developing more junior engineers
