Job Description

Join a high-performing strategy team at the forefront of one of Australia’s most dynamic life insurers. As a Senior Strategy Manager, this role is instrumental in shaping TAL’s strategic direction, partnering closely with executives and senior leaders to uncover growth opportunities, navigate strategic challenges, and deliver initiatives that create lasting impact. Working alongside experienced strategy professionals and former consultants, the role offers a unique opportunity to influence enterprise-wide decisions while supporting TAL’s purpose of helping Australians when they need us most.

In this role you will:

  • Co-develop and refine the corporate strategy, ensuring alignment with TAL’s long-term goals and market dynamics.
  • Develop comprehensive strategic plans aligned with TAL’s vision and strategy. Play a key role in driving the annual strategic planning process, including strategy offsites for the Executive team and the Board.
  • Conduct in-depth market analysis, competitor benchmarking and industry trend assessment to identify emerging trends and opportunities and to support the development and implementation of TAL’s corporate strategy.
  • Build and own complex models to support strategic projects and extract insights from large data sets.
  • Develop relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders, including Executives, Senior Leaders, Business Managers and external partners on strategy topics.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in business, commerce, engineering or a related field, including an MBA
  • Strong consulting skillset with 5+ years of experience in strategy consulting or corporate strategy roles in financial services
  • Strong analytical and Excel skills, with ability to translate complex data into actionable insights
  • Passion for problem-solving and a drive to achieve results
  • Experience in life insurance, superannuation, financial services and tech domains will be highly
    regarded
