About the Role
Are you looking for a role at an expanding Private Equity and M&A focussed Tax practice which offers a platform for professional growth and development whilst working alongside experienced and credentialled Partners and Directors?
BDO has a unique opportunity available for experienced M&A Tax Senior Consultants to join its Private Equity & Corporate M&A Tax team based in Sydney.
Successful applicants will become key members of a dedicated and collaborative team who work closely with a range of domestic and international private equity & VC firms along with many corporate clients assisting them with their critical interest in Australia as well as the opportunity to more broadly assist those clients globally as part of the wider BDO International Private Equity & Corporate M&A team.
On joining BDO, you can expect to:
be engaged to work on the full kaleidoscope of Private Equity/M&A tax advisory work comprising of Tax due diligence, domestic and international transaction structuring, transaction documentation reviews, modelling, MEP structuring, FIRB considerations, Private Binding Ruling Preparation and fund structuring;
act as a contact person for internal stakeholders on transactions and assist with communications with external stakeholders such as clients, commercial lawyers, investment bankers, investigating accountants and other service providers;
work closely with Partners, Directors and Managers across various BDO tax and Corporate Finance, Commercial Due Diligence and other Deal Advisory services teams also engaged on a transaction; and
have an opportunity to build enduring relationships with clients to develop your professional practice; and
work in an inclusive, supportive and professional environment as part of a wider National Tax team which has significant growth ambitions.
About you:
A successful applicant will have the following:
2 - 4 years' tax experience in working with a M&A/Deals Advisory/ Corporate tax practice of a either Big 4 Accounting firm/Mid-tier accounting firm or as a Corporate Tax advisor at a Law firm;
Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Accounting or Law along with attendant Professional qualifications as a CA, CTA or as a lawyer,
A commercial understanding of M&A transactions.
Project management, interpersonal and communication skills.
Sound track record of assisting on tax due diligence, tax structuring and fund structuring skills with an interest to develop these further.
A collaborative, innovative and inclusive working style.
An enquiring mind, open to new ways of thinking and approaches and unafraid to challenge the status quo.
