We are a specialist engineers who are responsible for CommBank’s key analytics creating world-leading capabilities for analytics, information management and decisioning. We work across the Cloudera Hadoop Big Data, Teradata Group Data Warehouse and Ab Initio platforms.

We’re interested in hearing from people who

• Have solid hands-on experience in ETL tools suite, along with commendable skills in production support

• Pride themselves on executing state-of-the-art coding practices, driving high quality outcomes solving core business objectives and minimising risks

• Are passionate about building next generation data platforms and data pipeline solution across the bank

• Have demonstrable experience in data warehousing and data mart build in Teradata, Oracle or RDBMS system and using SQL

• Are knowledgeable analysing, converting and documenting business/functional processes and requirements using standard analysis methodologies and tools

• Have solid hands-on experience with data aggregation, standardisation, linking, quality check mechanisms, and reporting

• Are knowledgeable creating both technology blueprints and engineering roadmaps, for a multi- year data transformational journey

• Pride themselves on leading and driving a culture where quality, excellence and openness are championed

• Constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex data problems

Tech skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

• Teradata, Oracle or RDBMS system and using SQL

• ETL tools suite

• Hadoop and Spark

• Ab initio background

• Strong Unix / Linux Shell scripting and programming skills in Java, Scala or Python.

• Certification in AWS, Cloudera CDP, Hadoop, Spark, Teradata

• AWS Architecture and Cloud

• Secure Coding Practices

• CI/CD and DevOps
