About the role.
We are seeking an experienced and driven Cold Store Supervisor to lead our Ballarat Cold Store operations. In this key leadership position, you will oversee daily operations, champion our safety culture, manage inventory accuracy, and nurture team development and performance. You will play a strategic part in optimizing our cold store efficiency and ensuring quality and compliance. Reporting to the Cold Stores & Inventory Manager - Australia, you will collaborate with stakeholders across the site to drive continuous improvement.
This is an AM Supervisor position. The standard working hours for this role are 6:30 am to 2:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Some flexibility and availability outside of these hours may be required to support operational needs and act as a point of contact for escalations.

What you'll be doing.
- Lead and promote a safety-first culture in alignment with company policies and legislative requirements (HACCP & ISO).
- Oversee Cold Store staff and contractors; coach and guide team members for optimal performance.
- Manage labor usage, attendance, annual stock takes, weekly payroll activities, and compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Drive inventory accuracy through regular cyclic counts and annual reconciliation.
- Maintain Cold Store forklift fleet and monitor performance against KPIs.
- Support training, induction, and ongoing competency assessments for all Cold Store employees.
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders (HR, Distribution, Production, Quality) and external logistics partners.
- Monitor, report on, and improve operational metrics, including site expenditure and budgeting.
- Act as the primary operational contact during and outside business hours for escalated matters.
- Lead and participate in site continuous improvement projects.
What you'll need to be successful.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar supervisory role in the Frozen Food or FMCG sectors.
- Experience in temperature controlled (frozen preferred) warehousing environment highly regarded.
- In-depth knowledge of Chain of Responsibility legislation and HACCP/Food Safety standards.
- Experience with SAP systems and strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
- Demonstrated background in team leadership and people development.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on building effective partnerships.
- Qualifications in Leadership, Management, Supply Chain or Warehousing highly regarded .
- Valid driver's licence.
