The Site Reliability Engineer ensures trading system reliability, responds to incidents, partners to evolve architecture, and drives improvements.
The Site Reliability Engineering team at IMC Trading is focused on the scalability and reliability of our trading systems. We are responsible for the operations of real-time systems, providing fast and effective incident response to keep IMC trading in the market. We work closely with traders and software developers to define short and long term improvements that make our trading systems easier to operate and more scalable. In the process, we build an understanding of IMC's trading strategies and software stack and apply automation that allows everyone to move fast, safely.

Your Core Responsibilities:
- Ensure continuity of critical trading operations, prioritising resolution of system issues with a sense of urgency: you will be the first layer of response, and will need to triage and resolve / escalate issues under time pressure.
- Support and monitor trading systems, proactively addressing problems before they are noticed.
- Partner with technology and trading teams to continually evolve and deploy system architecture.
- Define and own improvements to our systems and make sure they are delivered, whether by the SRE team, our dev teams or trading teams.
- Making sure that quick fixes are turned into lasting solutions.
Your Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor's in computer science/engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience, including 3+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Integration, or a related role.
- 3+ years of hands-on professional experience with Linux operating systems, network configuration, containers and orchestration tools, including Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in Python and Bash is required, experience with Go, Java and C++ are desirable.
- Self-driven and curious, with the ability to solve problems uniquely specific to our trading setup and learn on the job.
- Can do attitude, you can identify and drive changes that will improve our setup; you enjoy having breadth and are not scared of getting involved in new spaces.
