Your responsibilities:

  • Architect and evolve mission-critical systems supporting data & integration platform with a focus on reliability, performance, and scalability.

  • Ensure solution architectures address the unique requirements of our stakeholders clearing, risk management, and collateral processes.

  • Working collaboratively, manage and lead the design and development of solution architecture across multiple large-scale projects.

  • Represent and champion the solution architecture across governance forums and stakeholders.

  • Provide technical leadership in the production of technical solution designs, high quality functional specifications and other technical/documentation as required.

  • Be a key contributor and enable strong partnership across the other project delivery functions (Business Analysis, Delivery, Infrastructure, IT Service Ownership, Quality Engineering, Solution Engineering and Testing).

  • Be accountable for solution architecture, leveraging internal enterprise platforms and vendor-based IT solutions, ensuring the solution aligns with the Enterprise IT Strategy and Enterprise Architecture principles.

  • Work very closely with the Engineering team to ensure delivered systems align with the Technology architectural strategy and the principals relating to software integrity and reusability.

  • Be an active member of the Enterprise Architecture and Business Architecture Community of Practice (CoP).

Your experience and qualifications

Must have:

  • Experience with the architecture of mission critical environments.

  • Experience with modern AWS data platforms and a strong understanding of event-driven and data-driven architectures

  • Understanding of Kafka and event driven architectures.

  • AWS project/programme cloud transformation experience with strong delivery focus

  • At least 5 years' experience in a Solution Architect role

  • Proven experience defining solution architectures in complex, highly regulated environments

  • Proficient in documenting solution designs, including controls, data flows, and related architecture artefacts

  • Demonstrated communication skills, and the ability to view and explain technology from a customer perspective.

  • Demonstrated Stakeholder Management and Engagement, with clear examples of working collaboratively to define solution architectures.

  • Experience in developing solution architectures in a hybrid (legacy / cloud – SaaS, PaaS & IaaS) architecture environment.

  • Experience with the full software development life cycle using traditional and agile methodologies.

  • Experience in developing Non-Functional Requirements to support implementation of new or uplifting existing solutions.

  • B.S. and / or M.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent.

Nice to have

  • Strategy and architecture experience with legacy technology environments.

  • High level analytical capabilities, applied to complex programs of work.

  • Working knowledge of a fully integrated Exchange environment would be highly beneficial.

  • Experience in the execution of high impact, enterprise-wide, strategic programs, and initiatives.

  • Results orientated – understands what levers to pull to drive outcomes in a tightly regulated but changing environment.

  • Naturally inquisitive – asks questions to ensure understanding.

  • Confident decision maker – make straightforward decisions and know when to seek backup.
