As a Solution Architect, you will provide Architecture solutions and Technology Strategy/Roadmap authoring & support across EML.
You’ll work closely with the Head of Software and Head of Infrastructure & Security to gain a deep understanding of core applications, technical challenges, and opportunities for uplift and transformation.
Experience in designing and delivering architecture for AI infrastructure - including scalable data platforms, MLOps frameworks, and AI-enabled applications is essential as we continue to explore opportunities to integrate AI capabilities into our technology landscape.
This will be a full time, permanent based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive the Architecture Review Board practice, promoting the adoption of architecture standards, methodologies, and ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Lead solution ideation, design, and implementation activities — reviewing business context, defining solution vision and requirements, evaluating options, and developing roadmaps for delivery.
- Communicate solution architecture to stakeholders and collaborate with domain architects to formalise and embed technical standards and procedures.
- Provide clear, comprehensive design documentation to guide implementation teams, ensuring solutions are scalable, sustainable, and aligned with organisational standards.
- Develop and maintain architecture roadmaps and application portfolios, supporting technology uplift initiatives and contributing to strategic planning, including AI infrastructure and emerging technologies.
- Identify and recommend solution improvements, upgrades, replacements, or decommissioning opportunities, considering security, usability, operational efficiency, and total cost of ownership.
ABOUT YOU
- Demonstrated experience in architecting for and delivering AI infrastructure and hardware solutions, including scalable data platforms, MLOps frameworks, and AI-enabled applications.
- Proven experience in developing and rearchitecting solutions for cloud infrastructure environments (Azure & AWS).
- Strong background in IaaS, SaaS, PaaS, and FaaS solution design within Azure and AWS ecosystems.
- Solid understanding of Microservices architecture, containerisation technologies, and Kubernetes.
- Broad technical expertise across multiple domains, such as application development, integration, infrastructure, data management, and security.
- Familiarity with architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, NIST, or BizRok, wth practical application in large, complex environments.
