Throughout project delivery, the Solution Architect collaborates closely with Technical Consultants to ensure the implementation aligns with the solution design.

A primary goal of Professional Services is to accelerate time-to-value for our customers. This is achieved by identifying quick wins and utilizing an iterative delivery methodology, where the overall solution is broken down into smaller releases to realize business value sooner.

Solution Architects also work in close collaboration with Professional Services Sales Managers to assist with scoping prospective projects.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work with Okta customers, primarily in a post-sales role, to provide consulting and innovative solution design and advisory services.

  • Consistently deliver high-quality solution designs, aligning with customer goals and ensuring outstanding customer satisfaction for senior IT and business stakeholders.
  • Lead interaction and collaboration with other Okta teams, such as Engineering and Support, as needed to address escalated issues and drive product enhancements.
  • Work with the sales team to identify and pursue up-sell and cross-sell opportunities with existing customers.
  • Design new service offerings and discover innovative ways to deliver outstanding customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee multiple simultaneous engagements.
  • Mentoring less experienced team members, promoting professional development, and fostering collaboration, to build a supportive team environment that empowers independent problem-solving.
  • Become a recognized thought leader in the Identity and Access Management (IAM) domain, influencing best practices through the lens of Okta's solutions and vision.

Technical Skills that will help in the role:

  • 7+ years of overall IT/software development experience, solution design and technical architecture experience.
  • 5+ years of consulting experience.
  • Knowledge of enterprise web technologies, security, on-premise and cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of established customer experiences (CX) to address common IAM use cases.
  • Knowledge and experience in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Security space preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud computing solutions, including AWS, Google Apps, Salesforce etc.
  • Expertise in designing and/or implementing employee identity solutions within enterprise environments, encompassing HR-driven identity lifecycle management, Active Directory integration, enterprise-wide single sign-on (SSO), and SaaS application integrations.
  • Proven experience in designing solutions for mission-critical and key business systems.
  • Experience facilitating discovery workshops to elicit customer requirements, specifications, and business processes.
  • Strong knowledge of Directories such as: LDAP, Active Directory; Single Sign On Protocols: SAML, SSO, OAuth, OIDC; and common Web protocols: XML, JSON, HTTP, Javascript, REST.

  • Pushes creative thinking beyond the boundaries of existing industry practices and customer mindsets.
  • Communicates with internal and external customers and all levels of management.
