Position Purpose:
The Sr. Financial Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting, enhancing, and optimizing Home Depot's financial planning and forecasting applications, with a primary focus on OneStream.
This role partners closely with Product Managers, Finance business partners, and cross-functional teams to design and implement automated planning and forecasting solutions that support enterprise-wide financial decision-making. Serving as both a systems expert and business partner, the Sr. Financial Systems Engineer translates business requirements into scalable OneStream models, business rules, and application enhancements.
The role is responsible for maintaining forecasting applications, supporting end users, managing system documentation, and ensuring adherence to enterprise change management and application lifecycle management (ALM) processes. Additionally, this position helps prioritize enhancement requests, participates in Agile delivery processes using Jira, and collaborates with stakeholders across Finance and Technology to continuously improve forecasting capabilities as the organization expands its use of OneStream and transitions planning processes from legacy systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Works w/all levels throughout the enterprise by serving as a liaison between the assigned internal customer business unit and various functional departments to ensure policies and procedures are developed and enacted.
- Documents system processes, and training the end-user/providing support as needed.
- Provide guidance, training, and supervision to others to ensure maximum productivity and development.
- Analyze systems and business processes, develop cost-benefit analysis, and develop and manage workplans to successfully deliver projects on time and within budget. This will include leading project teams and directing the efforts of team members to ensure projects are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Leads meetings, provides strategic vision for any technical concerns.
- Creates management, project status, and ad-hoc reports.
- Develops and delivers adequate communication to provide for proper integration across departments, systems and platforms.
Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
- Typically reports to Director or Manager
- Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. Planning, monitoring and reviewing work of subordinates is required. This may include direct supervision of a shift or the coordination of multiple work groups. Makes recommendations concerning selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development.
Travel Requirements:
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Working Conditions:
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
