We're looking for a highly skilled and technically proficient Senior Product Designer in Sydney, Australia to join our small but high-performing global design team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end design process of your product areas. Your understanding of technical constraints, systems architecture, and the engineering effort required to bring complex products to life allows you to deliver exceptional user experiences. You will coordinate with product managers, engineers, and other designers, driving the ideation of highly functional and scalable solutions.

Our ideal candidate has a strong innovative drive, a deep sense of end user empathy, and an understanding of technical context when bringing complex products to life. They use their agency to be the voice of our users and they drive collaboration to create the clarity necessary to take an idea from a whiteboard to production.

What You'll Do:

  • Own the end-to-end design process for your product areas: reporting, integrations, and administration.
  • Develop thoughtful, highly functional, scalable, and impactful solutions to complex user problems.
  • Have hands-on involvement in all aspects of the design process, including user- and usability research; facilitating concept ideation; ux-, visual-, and interaction design; hi-fi mocks and prototyping; through to final implementation.
  • Collaborate daily with your Product and Engineering counterparts to identify and solve customer, product and business problems; understand technical constraints and propose design solutions.
  • Partner with Product Managers to define product strategy and roadmap, translating business goals and technical capabilities into design requirements.
  • Balance trade offs of time spent innovating with the ability to ship efficiently and successfully, managing your design roadmap accordingly.
  • Meet with customers, prospects, and internal stakeholders like Customer Success and Sales teams to drive innovation in your product areas.
  • Champion design in terms of planning, strategy, process, and integration throughout the company.
  • Help scale the impact of design by contributing the shareable aspects of your designs to our evolving design system.
  • Contribute to scaling a great design team that values collaboration, innovation, meaningful work, diversity, and impact.

What You'll Bring:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a product designer within SaaS products.
  • Passion for launching new products and features with demonstrated levels of success. Startup experience is highly valued.
  • Solid grounding in all aspects of Product Design (visual, interaction, ux), Accessibility, Customer Research, and Collaborative Design methodologies.
  • Mastery of  industry standard modern design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe suite, etc).
  • Strong knowledge of the product design industry and market trends
  • Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle, software development principles, and web front-end technologies allowing you to engage in technical discussions and turn ideas into viable solutions. Any coding experience is a plus!
  • A portfolio that showcases complex technically-oriented projects and demonstrates meticulousness, diligence, and attention to detail. Experience designing for data-heavy applications is a plus.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills enable you to craft the design narrative. Superior interpersonal/communication skills that make you an effective collaborator at all levels.
  • The ability to build rapport with highly skilled product managers and engineers and challenge them on decisions and priorities.
  • An interest in working with teams and individuals around the world, and an ability and interest to collaborate with those in other time zones.
