The Real Time Payments & PaaS crew comprises both home-built and vendor-built systems designed to facilitate seamless and real-time payments.

We are now advancing to the next stage of our DevSecOps journey, integrating Service Management and Operations within our squad. This expansion promises numerous benefits and opportunities for improvement.

In this enhanced role, you will be responsible for constructing scalable platform solutions that enable faster and safer delivery across various stages. You will also focus on enhancing observability, automating operational activities, and propelling the squad towards greater efficiency and effectiveness.

A key part of this role includes owning the end-to-end testing and deployment process. This involves designing test strategies, executing test plans, and ensuring the reliability and performance of our systems through rigorous functional and non-functional quality engineering practices.

We seek individuals who

• Possess experience as a Software Engineer/DevOps/SRE/System Engineer in a Cloud environment and have a keen interest in solving complex problems methodically.
• Have the ability to develop and oversee technology designs, collaborating closely with Technology Leads and Architects.
• Bring expertise in both functional and non-functional quality engineering, capable of independently conducting testing, managing deployments, taking full ownership of the end-to-end process.
• Exhibit a proactive approach, constantly seeking innovative solutions to technical challenges.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers, contributing effectively both as an individual and as part of a team.
• Understand DevOps/SRE Best Practices: Logging, Monitoring, Security.

Technical skills

• Experience in core AWS services such as EC2, VPC, S3, Identity and Access Management (IAM), Lambda, and AWS Managed services - Amazon RDS, Dynamo DB.
• Proficiency in Python scripting, Bash, PowerShell, or TypeScript to automate tasks, manage configurations, and troubleshoot issues.
• In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana to ensure proactive issue detection and resolution.
• Proficiency in Linux and Unix configuration and troubleshooting.
• Experience delivering scalable solutions using infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Pulumi, etc.
• Good understanding of DevOps and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, TeamCity CI/CD pipeline, AWS CodePipeline, or AWS CodeBuild to automate deployments.
• Experience with container technology, Docker, and Kubernetes/EKS.
