Working across Group-level and divisional priorities (including Industrial, Motors and UMW), you’ll contribute to a wide range of interesting, high-impact strategic work - supporting analysis that informs choices that drive long-term growth and sustainability.

You’ll also gain exposure to senior stakeholders through the work you support, helping ensure decisions are grounded in strong evidence, clear insights and robust analysis.

What you’ll do

In this role, you’ll support strategy projects and planning by:

  • Conducting horizon scanning to identify external developments and emerging issues.
  • Delivering strategic research and analysis using established frameworks - synthesising information into insights and clear outputs under guidance.
  • Supporting market, competitor and macro research using credible sources and structured protocols, and summarising findings into concise insights.
  • Producing insights and reporting packs by coordinating inputs, maintaining templates, tracking updates, and ensuring reporting is consistent and high quality.
  • Collecting, cleaning and analysing financial, economic and market data using standard tools and templates, ensuring accuracy and consistency in outputs.
  • Drafting and updating presentation materials that summarise research and analysis into clear key messages and options, under guidance.
What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone with strong research capability, analytical rigour and a clear, structured way of thinking. Ideally, you’ll have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role (research/consultancy experience favourable).
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics or a related field (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience conducting primary and secondary research, synthesising findings into practical insights and implications.
  • Strong capability in data analysis, market/competitor insight, and building clear reporting outputs.
  • Confidence supporting the development of slides/briefings - writing clearly, structuring key messages, and working with templates and feedback.
  • Experience in the heavy/automotive sector is favourable (not essential).
Why Group Strategy

If you’re looking for breadth, visibility and genuinely interesting work, this is a standout opportunity:

  • Enterprise-wide exposure: contribute to work across Group strategy and divisional priorities (Industrial, Motors, UMW).
  • Varied, high-impact work: support diverse strategic questions - market, competitor, macro trends and investment-relevant analysis.
  • Senior stakeholder exposure: your insights will feed into governance and leadership conversations and decision points.
  • Join a high-performing team known for high standards, strong thinking and trusted partnerships across the organisation.
Our values

At Sime, we’re guided by our values: Act with Integrity, Care for All and Win Together.

How to express interest

If you meet the above and are looking for a role that will reward and challenge you, please apply now, including a brief note outlining:

a piece of research/analysis you’re proud of and what it changed or enabled, and an example of how you turned complex information into clear, practical insights for others.
