Strategy & Transactions Manager | Sydney | Full-Time | Investment Management 

Are you looking for a dynamic, high-impact role that blends financial expertise with strategic execution? This is an exciting opportunity to work on M&A transactions, build business cases, influence and deliver the future of our Funds Management (FM) business. 

What makes this role unique?

  • End-to-End Involvement – Gain hands-on experience across all aspects of deal-making, from financial modelling to commercial negotiations and implementation. 

About the role 

You'll play a pivotal role in high-value M&A deals and strategic partnerships, working closely with senior leadership to shape key investment decisions. From valuation to execution and integration, you'll take ownership of transactions that drive commercial success, leveraging your expertise to develop robust business cases that align with our strategic direction. 

What you’ll be doing 

  • M&A & Strategic Investments – Conducting financial due diligence, valuation analysis, and market comparables to assess investment opportunities. 

  • Financial Modelling & Business Case Development – Build complex financial models to evaluate transactions, assess returns, and provide strategic recommendations. 

  • Stakeholder Engagement – Work closely with internal teams, legal, and external advisors (investment banks, market analysts) to execute deals and present to senior stakeholders and committees.  

  • Transaction Execution Support deal processes from initial assessment through execution, including negotiations on term sheets, shareholder agreements, and commercial structuring. 

  • Regulatory & Market Insights – Stay on top of industry trends and regulatory requirements, engaging with banking and investment communities to provide strategic insights. 

What we’re looking for 

  • Strong experience in financial services, investment banking, corporate finance, or funds management. 

  • Strong financial modelling, valuation, and strategic analysis skills. 

  • CA, CFA, CAIA or equivalent qualification. 

  • Proven transaction execution experience, including negotiating deal terms and structuring commercial agreements. 

  • Familiarity with regulatory considerations in financial services M&A (APRA, ASIC, FIRB approvals). 

  • Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment. 

  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence senior leadership.
