Job Description

At Northrop Grumman Australia, we do work that matters — delivering advanced Defence capability and supporting Australia’s national security. We’re seeking an experienced Senior Subcontracts Specialist to join our growing team to deliver strategic procurement outcomes for our Future Business portfolio.

The role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager Supply Chain, you’ll lead complex source to contract activities in support of captures across a multitude of Defence Capabilities. Working closely with program teams, leaders and suppliers, you’ll develop sourcing strategies, draft and execute RFx processes, evaluate, negotiate and award subcontracts, while ensuring compliance with Defence and company requirements.

You’ll also play a key role in managing supplier performance, contribute to functional continuous improvement activities and support a focus on Australian Industry Capability (AIC) outcomes, contributing to sustainable and mission‑focused supply chain solutions.

About you:

You’re a commercially astute professional who thrives in complex defence bid environments, balancing pace with rigor to deliver compliant, competitive outcomes. 

You’ll bring:

  • An AGSVA NV1 security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one

  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in subcontracting or a similar commercial role within the Defence Industry

  • Strong experience sourcing, drafting, negotiating and managing complex subcontracts

  • Sound commercial judgement and confident stakeholder engagement skills

  • Knowledge of ASDEFCON contracting frameworks

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment

  • Tertiary qualification in Business, Law or a related discipline (desirable)
