Position Details

As we continue our transformation and growth journey in the region, we are now looking to appoint an Operations Supervisor to join our team at our Lurnea facility in Sydney.

The primary focus of this role will be to lead and manage the shift, ensuring the operation operates efficiently and effectively, to meet customer requirements in line with policies and procedures for day shift Lurnea Storage & Handling.

Key areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

  • Safety - supporting and championing a culture of safety, ensuring company safety policies and procedures are implemented

  • Customer Service - ensuring agreed customer service levels are met on a consistent basis and regularly reviewing and taking corrective actions to address any issues

  • Operations - managing the operation within agreed contractual parameters to deliver quality customer service

  • Productivity - ensuring productivity outcomes are achieved via direct supervision and allocation of tasks

  • Training - ensuring all staff are trained to operate all machinery/equipment and understand warehouse work systems

  • CI - seeking out opportunities for continuous improvement

  • Leadership - Providing visible leadership by means of positive interaction, regular communication activities and establishing and reinforcing clear expectations

Your background and experience should ideally include:
 

  • Extensive experience in a similar role, within the logistics and transport industry

  • Experience leading a small/medium sized team

  • Strong understanding and implementation of safety procedures, product safety, quality and legality issues

  • Ability to determine manpower and equipment to meet workloads in line with legal and industrial relations framework

  • Strong understanding of KPIs, and using them to monitor, improve and manage the operation

  • Good understanding of the relationships between labour costs, productivity and profitability

  • Experience working within regulatory frameworks

  • Strong understanding of MHE and traffic management
