The Opportunity

Downer Energy & Utilities is seeking a Supply Chain Intern to support our procurement and supply chain team.

 

Reporting to a Procurement Manager, this entry-level opportunity is ideal for a student or recent graduate looking to gain practical experience within a large and complex infrastructure business. 

 

You'll work closely with Buyers and Supply Chain professionals, providing administrative and transactional support across construction projects, maintenance programs, and infrastructure works.

 

This role plays an important part in ensuring procurement activities run efficiently, vendor information is accurately maintained, and project teams receive the support they need to deliver successful outcomes. 

 

You'll gain valuable exposure to supplier management, purchasing processes, procurement systems, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement within a Tier 1 ASX-listed organisation.

 

What You'll Do

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and transactional support to Buyers across a range of projects and contracts.
  • Maintain procurement records, registers, supplier databases, status reports, and expediting information.
  • Support vendor onboarding activities and assist with supplier queries.
  • Help manage and maintain supplier contract repositories and procurement documentation.
  • Monitor, triage and report on procurement requisitions and purchasing requests through internal systems.

What We're Looking For

  • Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a tertiary qualification in Commerce, Law, Project Management, Engineering or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and a process-focused mindset.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and confidence working with systems and data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • A proactive, resourceful approach and ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
