About the role
As a System Administrator at Sonder, you’ll be crucial in maintaining the reliability, security, and performance of our platforms that provide global wellbeing support. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage both cloud-based and on-premises systems, with the autonomy to take full ownership of your work. You’ll troubleshoot issues, implement security improvements, and ensure smooth daily operations. If you enjoy working independently, solving technical challenges, and making a tangible impact in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, this is the perfect role for you.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide system administration and technical support for SaaS and corporate platforms.
- Perform regular system updates, access audits, and troubleshooting.
- Respond promptly to escalated technical requests and resolve issues efficiently.
- Manage IT processes for staff onboarding and offboarding (including user access setup and deactivation).
- Contribute to building and maintaining an IT knowledge base for internal teams.
- Collaborate with the IT team to assess and improve platform security.
- Execute system hardening tasks, including enabling SSO, whitelisting, and data residency management.
- Conduct regular platform audits to ensure compliance with security and operational standards.
- Oversee platform configuration, including stopping domain claiming and managing system operations.

What you bring to the team;
- 5+ years of IT experience, with at least 2 years in systems administration.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, Atlassian, MDM).
- Strong expertise in systems administration for both Windows and macOS environments.
- Experience managing enterprise SaaS platforms like Google Workspace and Atlassian products.
- Proficient in administering and maintaining cloud-based and on-premises platforms.
- Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member.
- Adaptable and open to evolving technologies and shifting organisational priorities.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Strong team player with a focus on collaboration.
- Highly technically inclined with a passion for problem-solving.
- Resilient and composed under pressure, with the ability to maintain focus in challenging situations.
