About the Role (Your Why)  

As a Systems Analyst at Datacom, you will play a crucial role in supporting and maintaining operating systems software. You’ll work closely with senior team members to ensure the performance, availability and reliability of systems hardware and software.

Our offices are based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. We like to bring people together in person when we can, but we are mindful of the benefits of working from home for work/life balance. We therefore leave it to you and the team you join to figure out what works best!

Please note that this role will require NV1 security clearances (you don't need to have now but you must be able to get them) and so the role is open for Australian citizens ONLY.


What You’ll Do   

The Systems Analyst is responsible for (but not limited to):


  • Assisting senior team members under close supervision
  • Monitoring the performance and availability of systems hardware and software
  • Installing, testing and maintaining new or modified systems software
  • Preparing documentation for use by Systems Design Programmers and Operations staff
  • Analysing and rectifying operating systems problems
  • Managing disk space to optimize system performance

What You’ll Bring  

We are looking for candidates who possess the following qualities:

  • Previous solid experience in systems administration and to a lesser extent in programming
  • Basic skills in the MVS/UNIX/Windows operating system or major sub-system
  • Knowledge of various software and performance monitoring techniques
  • Knowledge or understanding of most/all Citrix Technologies is desirable
  • Ability to transform customer requirements into a technical solution and work according to deadlines
  • Extensive experience and specialist skills in the configuration and maintenance of networking/communications infrastructure, including the ability to support a variety of technologies
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work on issues that impact design and selling success, or address future concepts, products or technologies.
  • Ability to adapt and apply existing techniques and methodologies to new uses
  • Advanced skills in an operating system (or combinations of) e.g., MVS/XA/SP/UNIX/VAX/AS400 and various database software and network systems
  • Advanced skills in several of the programming languages used on site including Cobol, Assembler, CICS, PL/1 and SQL.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, technology or a related discipline
  • ITIL V3 Foundation, Citrix Virtualization (CCA-V/CCP-V/CCEV), Citrix Networking (CCA-N/CCP-N), and/or Microsoft MCP, MCSE certifications are all desirable
