Datacom Location:  Adelaide

Security Requirements: CITIZENS ONLY due to need for security clearances. Preference to those that have current security clearances (Baseline, NV1).

About the Role (Your Why)

As a Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting Datacom's technical infrastructure including corporate hardware and software as well as providing corporate systems for the Datacom Business. This role primarily performs support activities in our corporate Production Environment, including responsibility for infrastructure changes following formal change control process. You will also assist with Priority incidents and internal projects as opportunities present themselves. You will be keen to take the next step in your career. As a Systems Engineer, your role is to engage with and support all levels of customers from technical staff through to executives and your attention to detail will ensure your deliverables are of the highest standards.


Ideally, your Technical Skills will encompass some or all of the following:

Microsoft Technologies

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft OS Server and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server, Exchange, and Group Policy.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Security tools such as Defender and MFA.
  • Experience with Entra ID, ADFS, RADIUS, and NPS.

Networking & Infrastructure

  • Working knowledge of DNS, DHCP, VPN, LAN, and Wireless.
  • Experience with certificate management.

Linux & Scripting

  • Knowledge of managing Linux systems.
  • Scripting skills in for example PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation and system management.

Backup & Recovery

  • Experience with enterprise backup platforms such as Rubrik, Veeam, or similar.
  • Understanding of backup methodologies, retention policies, and data recovery techniques.

Cloud & Virtualization

  • Experience with Azure services including backup, storage, and virtual machines.
  • Familiarity with virtualization platforms like VMware, Hyper-V, Redhat Openshift.

General Requirements

  • Advanced OS troubleshooting experience.
  • Ability to work on problems of diverse scope.
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar role and environment.
