Cochlear is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer based in our Macquarie Office. In this role, you will be responsible for leading systems engineering activities, ensuring successful product design and implementation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions that make a real impact on the lives of our recipients.
The Opportunity
Cochlear has an opportunity for a full-time Systems Engineer based in our Macquarie, Sydney office. In this role, the successful Systems Engineer will contribute to the development of medical devices, focusing on systems engineering activities and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of new features. This role offers the chance to gain experience in the highly regulated medical device industry while working with advanced technology in an impactful and meaningful way.
Responsibilities include:

Own and/or contribute to systems engineering activities on product and system projects.

Perform product/system-level design and manage requirements and requirement traceability.

Lead and participate in design reviews to ensure product/system performance and functionality.

Write quality documentation for regulatory submissions and approvals.

Drive cross-functional issue resolution, considering both technical details and big-picture trade-offs.

Contribute to the development and implementation of product standards compliance.

Provide leadership and structure to feature teams to ensure the timely delivery of features and system requirements.

Champion systems thinking and contribute to process improvements to enhance product innovation and development efficiency.

About You
To add value to Cochlear in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
Essential:

Engineering/Science degree (Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Biomedical or Systems engineering preferred).

2 years post-qualification engineering experience in a R&D environment preferably with high-tech products.

Understanding of systems engineering principles, methods and tools that are appropriate for the development of medical devices.

Ability to communicate effectively (and adjust communication style as needed) with cross-functional teams at various levels.
Ideal:

Experience in implant development or in the highly regulated industry e.g., medical devices.

Experience working in Agile product development.
