What the role is all about

As a System Engineer you will be responsible for designing, improving, and maintaining our Enterprise systems.  You’ll become an integral part of an agile team, providing your expertise of systems engineering & design, operational work practices, fault finding and incident management. You will be expected to implement sustainable solutions in a collaborative and creative work environment to support our many lines of business.

  • Ensuring the availability and performance of our systems.
  • Work with the rest of the team to continuously improve the systems we provide.
  • Provide help and advice to users of those systems.
  • Help us identify common problems within Enterprise Tech, and design simple solutions.

Who we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated experience building, integrating, and maintaining SaaS solutions and tooling (e.g., Jira Service Management and other Atlassian tools), including lifecycle management and vendor integrations.
  • Experience with administrating and integrating a variety of SaaS based systems such as Microsoft 365, Okta, Zoom, PagerDuty and Slack into a corporate environment.
  • Infrastructure experience administrating both cloud and on-premises office IT systems and AV systems.
  • Networking experience on distributed routing, switching, firewall and wireless systems (Palo Alto, Arista, & Cisco).
  • Experience in securely deploying systems (Windows/Linux) to AWS infrastructure from CI/CD pipelines.
  • Maintain and uplift a variety of systems using best practice (security, testing, automation, and monitoring).
  • Capacity to operate both independently, using initiative and self-direction, and as a team member to produce consistently high-quality work.
  • Looks at tricky situations through a solutions-focused lens.
  • Works productively in a fast paced and agile environment.

Desirable skills

  • Experience in automation and workflows
  • Python programming experience.
  • AWS serverless technologies (Lambda, Step functions etc).
  • Experience developing in a Cloud environment (AWS preferred). 
  • DevOps experience in infrastructure automation, cloud services and tooling.
  • Curiosity – an ability to tinker with technology in a sandbox or test environment and keep learning.
