Why this is an exciting opportunity


As a Systems Security Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing and coordinating security initiatives across HUB24's technology landscape. Working closely with architecture, engineering, development and operations teams, you'll help embed secure engineering practices, improve cyber resilience and support the delivery of security solutions aligned to our Cyber Security roadmap.

What you’ll be doing


  • Analyse HUB24's security posture and identify opportunities to improve security controls, processes and capabilities.
  • Design, implement and coordinate security solutions across cloud, on-premises and hybrid environments.
  • Lead and support security initiatives aligned to the Cyber Security & Governance roadmap.
  • Partner with architecture, engineering and development teams to embed security and privacy requirements into technology solutions.
  • Conduct security reviews and provide guidance to ensure solutions are secure by design.
  • Support Security Operations through technical escalation, consultation and security expertise.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of information security policies, standards and frameworks.
  • Assist with audit, regulatory and compliance activities, including security assessments, gap analysis, vulnerability management and Threat & Risk Assessments.
  • Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to technology and cyber security teams across HUB24.
  • Collaborate with vendors and stakeholders to deliver security outcomes and manage technology risks effectively.
  • Leverage threat intelligence, emerging security trends and industry best practices to support strategic decision making.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, reporting and knowledge-sharing artefacts.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of HUB24's Cyber Security strategy and roadmap.

What you bring


You don’t need to tick every box, but experience in the below will set you up for success.


Experience & Skills


  • 5+ years' experience in cyber security, systems engineering or a related technology role.
  • Strong experience across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, networking and security technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing security solutions such as:
    • Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR)
    • Vulnerability Management
    • Privileged Access Management (PAM)
    • Identity and Access Management (IAM)
    • Security Monitoring and SIEM platforms
    • Microsoft Purview and related security technologies
  • Experience conducting security reviews and applying secure-by-design principles.
  • Working knowledge of security frameworks and standards including ISO 27001, NIST and the ACSC Essential Eight.
  • Experience working with security tools including SIEM, VMDR, EASM, EDR and related security platforms.
  • Understanding of risk management, security governance and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with ITIL practices and operational support processes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP highly regarded.
