About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Salesforce is seeking a high-performing Account Executive to join our Tableau team, focused on driving data and analytics transformation across Victoria's Public Sector. This role spans all levels of government , from Victorian State Government departments and agencies through to local councils and statutory bodies across the state.
This is a strategic role at the intersection of data, decision-making, and public value. You will partner with government leaders at every level to unlock the power of data, enabling more informed, timely, and citizen-centric outcomes across Victoria's diverse public sector landscape.
As a Tableau Account Executive, you will lead end-to-end sales strategy across a broad portfolio of Victorian public sector accounts, building trusted relationships and driving data-driven transformation from central government to frontline service delivery.
About Tableau, a Salesforce Company
Tableau enables people and organisations to see and understand data. As a leader in analytics, Tableau helps customers make faster, more confident decisions — particularly in complex, data-rich environments like public sector, where evidence-based policy and service delivery outcomes are paramount.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Territory & Account Leadership: Own and execute a strategic territory plan across Victorian public sector accounts, spanning State Government departments, statutory authorities, local councils, and government-owned enterprises. Identify whitespace opportunities and deepen existing relationships across all levels of government.
  • Complex Enterprise Sales: Manage full sales cycles from pipeline generation through to close, including navigating procurement frameworks across state (VSPS, DMP) and local government, ensuring compliance at every stage.
  • Executive Engagement: Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across government, including CIOs, CTOs, CDOs, Directors, and Councillors, aligning Tableau solutions to strategic priorities at both the agency and whole-of-government level.
  • Solution Selling: Position Tableau as a key enabler of Victoria's broader data and digital transformation agenda, spanning policy, service delivery, infrastructure, health, education, planning, and community services — articulating value in scalable, accessible analytics for public sector decision-makers at every level.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Solution Engineering, Customer Success, Marketing, and the broader Salesforce Public Sector team to deliver cohesive, high-impact engagements tailored to the unique needs of each government entity.
  • Ecosystem Navigation: Work within Victoria's rich public sector partner ecosystem — including systems integrators, management consultancies, and local government associations (e.g. MAV) , to drive large-scale, multi-stakeholder deals.
  • Forecasting & Pipeline Discipline: Maintain accurate pipeline management, forecasting, and account insights using Salesforce, ensuring visibility and predictability across your territory.
You're Our Person If…
  • Proven success in enterprise, consultative sales with a track record of exceeding targets in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Experience selling into Victorian or broader Australian public sector, across state government, local government, or statutory bodies
  • Strong understanding of public sector procurement frameworks across both state (VSPS, DMP) and local government contexts
  • Ability to navigate long, multi-threaded sales cycles across diverse government entities with varying levels of digital maturity
  • Executive presence with the ability to influence and engage senior leaders across government , from C-suite to elected officials
  • Familiarity with data, analytics, or enterprise software (BI, data platforms, cloud technologies)
  • Highly strategic mindset with strong account planning and territory management capabilities
  • Knowledge of Victoria's data and digital reform agenda, including Data Vic, the Victorian Centre for Data Insights (VCDI), and the Local Government Victoria digital transformation program , is highly regarded
