Hey 👋

We’re Fetch – a startup helping Aussies master modern pet parenting with the cutest pet insurance around. We’ve built Fetch from scratch, covering everything from policies to claims and apps for pet parents, vets, and even our internal teams.

Pet parents are loving Fetch; we’re the highest‑rated on Google at 4.9 ⭐, and have a +75 NPS. But we’re not stopping there. We’re building the go‑to pet health app and expanding into new countries 🌏.

We are making our first talent hire! You will help us build the team with the same care we put into the product. You will take full ownership of end to end hiring, partnering with hiring manager to hire the best people and build our talent brand. This is a builder role and it’s important that this is something you are passionate about.

Why this role matters

We’ve got real ambition to scale - faster growth, bigger product bets, and new markets.

That only works if we can keep hiring great people across product, AI, pricing and operations.

This role is about making Fetch known for the quality of what we build (and the people who build it) - so great candidates already know who we are before they ever see the job ad.

Your team

This is a standalone role in Talent, reporting to the CEO, you will work directly with the founders and partner with every team: Product & Engineering, Data, Pricing, Customer Operations, Marketing, and Legal/Risk/Compliance.

Your role

🧲 Build Fetch’s talent brand: Define (and then ship) a clear employer value proposition across roles – what it’s like to build here, what we value, and why the work matters.

🎥 Create content that attracts builders: Role spotlights, “day in the life”, case studies, what we’re shipping, how we think about AI + customer experience. Written, video, social – whatever works.

🔎 Source and engage top talent (hands-on): You’ll do the hard yards. Market maps. Communities. Referrals. Direct outreach. You’ll build pipelines for roles from AI engineers and data scientists, to pricing leaders, to customer operations talent.

🤖 Use AI like it’s 2026: Build a modern talent stack using AI tools for sourcing, research, screening support, structured note-taking, and content production – without losing human judgement.

⚙️ Build the hiring machine: Scorecards, structured interviews, work samples, fast coordination, consistent decision making, and a candidate experience that people talk about.

📈 Own hiring outcomes: You’ll be accountable for pipeline health, time-to-hire, quality of hire signals, and improving our conversion at every stage.

🧑‍🏫 Coach hiring managers: Help leaders run great processes, write better role briefs, pitch roles properly, and close great people.

What success looks like (first 6 months)
  • You have landed our priority hires across AI, pricing, product, and operations

  • You are nurturing strong, consistent pipelines for our core functions

  • You’ve uplifted our job ads and we’re attracting the right candidates

  • You have launched a steady stream of content that’s starting to bring the right people to us

  • You’ve levelled up hiring across the business, we have consistency across teams - clearer briefs, better interviews, faster decisions and exceptional candidate experience

  • You have built scalable interview processes and coached the team on interviewing and hiring

About you

🚀 Startup builder: You’ve done talent in a high-growth environment and you like pace, ambiguity, and making things from scratch.

🧠 Good judgement: You can spot great people, and you know what “great” looks like across very different roles.

📝 Seriously good writing: You can write clear, human ads and outreach that sounds like us.

🎯 Sourcing craft: You know how to find the best people (not just the active ones) and you’re comfortable doing direct outreach yourself.

🧪 AI-native: You experiment, you automate, you measure what works, and you keep improving your toolkit.

🐶 Pet lover (or pet-curious): Optional, but you’ll get bonus points for tolerating an unreasonable volume of pet pics.

Why you’ll love Fetch

🧠 Growth: Join us at a pivotal stage and help scale a startup by 10x over the next 2 years.

🎉 Remuneration: Competitive Series A salary + meaningful early-stage startup equity.

🏡 Flexibility: Flexible working hours and remote work (or in-person if you’re in Sydney). We’re all about family/pet-friendly policies.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Parental Leave: A policy that embraces all parents and carers.

☀️ Extra Leave: We offer 5 weeks of annual leave – you’ll need some time to unwind with your pets.

The city's tech sector has earned a reputation as one of the fastest-growing in the region.
