Join our Australia and New Zealand Finance team as a Tax Accountant based in our North Sydney office. Reporting directly to our Head of Tax, you’ll be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant tax reporting through careful analysis and planning.
This role involves preparing taxation documentation and providing technical tax guidance to support informed business decisions. This is a great career opportunity where you can work in a small team and get exposure to a broad range of tax activities.
What you’ll do

Oversee compliance and ensure the company meets all tax obligations across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore (including GST, FBT, BAS, income tax, withholding tax and transfer pricing).

Prepare and/or review workbooks for various local tax compliance tasks, and ensure that obligations are met by the deadlines.

Conduct research and analysis, consider and recommend options to meet company needs and enable informed decision-making.

Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures for taxation related matters.

Collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders regarding taxation activities, such as external tax advisers, auditors, and tax authorities.

Perform other duties as required in accordance with strategic objectives, business plans, and local workload priorities.
What experience you need
-
Demonstrated understanding of taxation with a minimum of 3 years tax experience in Australia (the NZ and Singapore elements of this role we can teach)

Understanding of GST and Withholding Tax

Experience working in chartered firms highly desirable

Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply tax legislation

Intermediate Excel skills

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.

Self motivated person who takes pride in quality of work

Experienced in the development, implementation and evaluation of best practice policies, procedures, strategies and/or initiatives.
