Travel Percentage: 0%Join Stryker as a Tax Analyst and play a critical role in how we manage tax compliance, risk, and governance across Australia and New Zealand.
This is more than a compliance role. You’ll partner across finance and the business to ensure we meet our obligations with accuracy and integrity—while also providing insight, challenging thinking, and supporting better decisions.
What you’ll do:
Own tax compliance and governance
- Manage the tax filing calendar end-to-end, ensuring all obligations are delivered accurately and on time
- Prepare and review tax provisions, calculations, and payments across direct and indirect taxes
- Support the preparation of AU & NZ income tax returns, including ATO and IRD schedules
- Deliver GST/BAS, FBT, and payroll tax requirements with a high degree of accuracy
- Contribute to internal tax reporting for corporate and support SOX and control requirements, including tax audits
- Stay ahead of regulatory changes and ensure ongoing compliance across the business
Bring a commercial lens to tax
- Review or provide tax advice, applying sound judgement and a practical, business-focused approach
- Support transfer pricing documentation and manufacturer margin reviews with Corporate and external advisors
- Contribute to voluntary disclosures and customs reporting across AU & NZ
- Support R&D tax processes in partnership with finance leadership
Partner with the business
- Build credibility with stakeholders by providing clear, actionable insights on tax impacts
- Translate complex tax and financial information into practical guidance for finance and non-finance teams
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities, and engage early to influence outcomes
- Support strong financial governance by bringing an independent, considered perspective
Drive continuous improvement
- Identify opportunities to strengthen processes, controls, and data integrity
- Support finance and business projects where tax expertise is required
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
What you bring:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
- Foundational experience or knowledge across direct and indirect tax
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Ability to interpret financial data and communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders
- Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proactive mindset with the confidence to work independently and apply judgement
