This role will work primarily with our Fordham Business Advisory Accounting Practice.

About the role
As the Tax Quality & Compliance Manager for the Fordham business you will manage the quality and compliance function for our Business Advisors’, ensuring that we are delivering a consistent standard of excellence for our clients and in accordance with relevant legislation and standards.
Key responsibilities will include:
Act as the primary subject matter expert for interpreting and operationalising tax compliance obligations across the practice.
Support the implementation of regulatory updates relating to Tax Agent and CA ANZ professional obligations.
Develop, maintain and deliver policies, procedures, and deliver training to support compliance with the Tax Agent Services Act, APES Professional Conduct and System of Quality Management standards and APESB obligations.
Own core first line risk and compliance activities, including maintenance of obligation registers, design and review of compliance controls, control testing and remediation planning.
Identify, map and assess Fordham’s policies, processes and controls against legislative and professional association requirements.
Support client facing professionals with broader risk and compliance activities, including file reviews, investigation of systemic issues and internal audit findings.
Embed new regulatory obligations into existing workflows with minimal disruption to client service delivery.
About you
You will have a minimum of 5 years accounting or auditing experience, ideally with experience in a similar role within an accounting firm.
Ideally you will have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting or Commerce, and hold CA ANZ or CPA membership.
Experience in risk, compliance, or operational roles with a strong understanding of tax and quality compliance obligations and regulatory frameworks.
Proven ability to interpret regulatory requirements and translate them into practical, business aligned actions and controls.
Strong understanding of Australian tax compliance/tax agent obligations and frameworks.
Well-developed communication and relationship building skills with the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders.
Excellent time management and organisational skills.
The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, managing and implementing agreed change.
A commercial, solution focused mindset.
Strong presentation skills.
