Job Summary:

Join our Technical Compliance Team and play a key role in supporting the end-of-financial-year tax statement process. You will be responsible for collating, analysing and processing tax statement information, ensuring data accuracy and providing exceptional support to clients and stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in accounting, finance or taxation who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is looking to build their experience within financial services.

Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with fund managers and investment providers to obtain EOFY tax statement information.
  • Analyse and validate tax statement data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Convert tax statement information into tax ratios for use within the Class platform.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to gather information, respond to queries and provide updates.
  • Conduct quality checks and resolve discrepancies to maintain data integrity.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with compliance and internal control requirements.
  • Provide regular reporting on project progress and delivery against targets.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to increase efficiency.
  • Participate in team stand-ups, training sessions and knowledge-sharing forums.
  • Utilise tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint and Zendesk to support documentation and knowledge management.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects, analysis and troubleshooting activities as required.

Requirements:

Essential

  • Degree qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Business, Information Systems or a related discipline.

  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of Australian taxation law and practices.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.

Desirable

  • Experience in accounting, fund administration, portfolio administration or a similar environment.

  • Understanding of Australian superannuation legislation.

  • Knowledge of ASX-listed securities, ETFs and managed funds.

  • Exposure to SQL, APIs or data extraction processes.

  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
