Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future.  

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security. 

We currently have an opportunity for a Technical Business Analyst in Canberra, ACT to work on Defence ERP and Asset Management transformation projects.

What You’ll Do 

These roles offer a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including: 

  • Support the uplift, standardisation, and governance of engineering and asset management processes within Defence ERP environments.
  • Provide subject matter expertise across SAP S/4HANA EAM modules, supporting business process design, optimisation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Defence stakeholders, functional SMEs, and technical teams to translate operational requirements into scalable SAP-enabled solutions.
  • Support data migration, ETL activities, master data management, and governance practices to improve asset, maintenance, and engineering data quality.
  • Develop process documentation, facilitate workshops, support testing and change activities, and provide data-driven insights to support informed decision-making.

 

What You’ll Bring  

  • Extensive experience working within SAP ERP environments, ideally supporting Defence, engineering, maintenance, or other asset-intensive organisations.
  • Strong expertise in SAP EAM master data structures, data governance frameworks, and data migration or ETL processes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance, engineering, and asset management business processes, including alignment with industry best practice frameworks.
  • Proven business analysis capability, including requirements elicitation, process mapping, stakeholder engagement, and solution design.
  • Ability to work effectively in secure and regulated environments, holding a Baseline Security Clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain an NV1 Clearance.

 

Due to the nature of the work, the successful applicant must hold and maintain an AGSVA Security Clearance, as required by the Commonwealth. In some cases, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may also be required.
